The juice is fresh, but the team behind it? Even fresher.

Introducing Pick of the Bunch, where we spotlight the people who make Picky...well, Picky.

From juice & smoothie obsessives to perfectionist planners, this crew lives and breathes bold flavors, bright ideas, and the relentless pursuit of liquid greatness.

Stay tuned as we peel back the curtain (and maybe an orange or two) to share their stories, quirks, and what keeps them squeezing every drop of passion into Picky.

Obsessed? Us too.

Born in Dunedin, seasoned in England, and newly landed in Hawke’s Bay – meet Josh, our Sales Lead and fresh import to Team Picky.

He’s the guy keeping our shelves stocked across the board, bringing a clear head, a steady hand, and a suspicious enthusiasm for a good spreadsheet.

When he’s off the clock, Josh is either volunteering at the local bird sanctuary or acing Birdle, Wordle’s bird-nerd cousin. Ask him to ID a kākāriki call and he won’t miss a beat.

We considered him officially settled in so we asked him some picky questions:

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role?

I’m known as Josh to most, I’m the Head of Sales for Australasia, aka ‘blisters’ as I turn up when the hard work is done..

Tell us a bit about your connection to the Hastings region. What makes this place special to you?

A fledgling connection having moved here with my young family 10 months ago after a long stint in the UK.

When you think about Hastings, what local ingredients or foods immediately come to mind?

Surely the only answer is the world's best apples, making the world's best apple juice

What’s a typical day like for you here?

Swan in, take the glory, swan out

What’s one thing you love about being in the Hastings region?

The Climate is pretty good, It’s slightly warmer than Dunedin where I grew up!

Quick-fire questions.

What’s the video game based on the movie based on the book about your life called? Sarcasm kept him sane.

What’s the most normal thing you can think of? A spoon

Trampoline, chatter rings or climbing trees?  None – give me a ball, I’ll chase it all day – a bit like a dog

Pick three words to describe yourself when you were 13. (I) shudder thinking back
